3sat is a publicly financed TV channel operated in cooperation of different public TV channels of all German-spoken areas (German ZDF & ARD, Austrian ORF and Swiss SRG channel). The channels high demands on journalism, reports, coverage and also cultural substance, reflect also on the very popular daily culture magazine: 3sat Kulturzeit (translated: culture time).

After 12 years of same studio design, like a bad, old habit, Kulturzeit dragged this, almost antiquated, visual appearance. The cooperation of velvet (agency) and architect Jürgen Bieling (concept, design and execution) brought the long-awaited and revolutionary help, which resulted in a beautiful and modern setting, finally doing justice to the high demands of Kulturzeit, as well as channel 3sat.
