Solarliod is a dance-art short film, shot in Iceland. The music is by the young Icelandic composer Hördur Mar Bjarnason, who in 2014 successfully launched his debut album “Haust” Europe. Torsten Lippstock co-directed the movie and was also a DOP, the other part of directing team was the dancer and choreographer Julia Maria Koch.
“Solarliod” is inspired by a poem of the same name from “Eddas”, a major compilation bout society, faith and nature, Nordic gods and heroes from the 13th century. It interprets in images the apocalyptic words of poetry and translates it into a contemporary context and consciousness.
